POSITIVUS ANNOUNCES RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY STAGE ARTISTS

This summer Positivus festival will be hosting its sixth annual Red Bull Music Academy stage with an exciting electronic music programme. Alongside previously announced artists A-Trak and Just Blaze, the programme will feature the best of Baltic and global acts, such as NYC’S Nick Hook, Full Crate & Mar from The Netherlands, Rebeka from Poland, Lithuania’s Napo and many more. All artist sets will be recorded and made available on the Red Bull Music Academy Radio www.rbmaradio.com.

The newest U.S. electronica trends will be displayed by the NYC’s eccentric musician Nick Hook, who began  turning  tables,  starting  bands  and collecting  synthesizers  at  a  young  age. His  universal brand  of  dirty,  analogue  dance  music  has  travelled around  the  world  from  New  York  to  Tokyo  for  more than 10 years. With multiple releases under his belt as founding  member  of  Cubic  Zirconia,  Hook’s  eccentric roster  of  collaborative  productions  with  the  likes of EL-P,  L-Vis  and  Azealia  Banks  reflects  an  undying affinity for all types of electronic music.

Rebeka is an unusual duo - a crazy and unpredictable warrior, whose strong energy reaches a climax at concerts. Their debut album, Hellada (2013) is as complete and elaborate as it is full of beauty, dirt and emotions; the cold synths and pulsing bass transform the listener as they are sucked into emotional, engaging stories. Hellada was named last year’s Polish Album of the Year.

European avant-garde electronica achievements will be represented by the Dutch duo Full Crate & Mar. Producer Full Crate and singer Mar are two young musicians from Amsterdam. They fuse soul music and hip-hop with a sound design that - excuse the cliché - is best described as futuristic. Today they are both part of the Amsterdam hip-hop / beatmaker scene. They have collaborated with artists like FS Green, Versis, Sir OJ, Hayzee, Suff Daddy and many others.

Crafting sounds that induce a deeper mental state, Napo fuses hip-hop with soul and R&B enriching it with his unique approach to vocals. The music is vivid and visual, deep and sentimental, melodic and inspiring. Napo has the perception of a film director, tailoring the sounds like a masterpiece. 2014 marks a new stage for the young artist with big releases and exciting visuals.

Red Bull Music Academy stage will also host Temper Temple, Leslie da Bass, Avoid Dave, Quest&Paul Oja, Margaret, Sander Molder, Mr Nestor, Dave Storm, Mhkl & K-Sein, Vaiper Despotin, Niklavz, Oropl, DFRNT and DJ All-Viss.

As previously announced, the Lattelecom stage will feature Kraftwerk, Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Elbow, The Kooks, The 1975, Daughter, Anna Calvi, The Horrors, You Me At Six, AlunaGeorge, NONONO, FM Belfast, And So I Watch You From Afar.

Nordea stage will host Tricky, Chet Faker, Pharoah Sanders Quartet, Laura Mvula, Junip, Temples, Of Montreal, MØ, Future Islands, King Charles, Kid Karate, Justina Lee Brown&Latvian Blues Band, Birth Of Joy and Dzelzs Vilka Jauno Jāņu Orķestris.

The festival 3 day ticket without camping currently costs EUR 57 and a 3 day ticket with camping costs EUR 63. Ticket prices are set to increase.
