Augustibluus 2026
AUGUSTIBLUUS 2026
Augustibluus will take place for the 32nd time in 2026.
Founded in 1994, the festival has grown into one of Estonia’s most important music events and holds a firm place among Europe’s leading blues festivals. Over the years, the stage of Haapsalu Episcopal Castle has hosted many world-renowned artists, including The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Andy Fairweather Low, Lucky Peterson, Devon Allman, Eric Gales, Curtis Salgado, Chris Cain, Candye Kane, Coco Montoya and many others. In addition to international stars, the festival also features many of Estonia’s top musicians each year.
In 2026, nearly 40 artists and bands from 11 countries will perform at the festival. Highlights include slide guitar legend Eric Sardinas (USA), new-generation blues star Toby Lee (UK), British harmonica virtuoso Will Wilde, Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gunhild Carling, and rising American talents Sean McDonald and Skyler Saufley, among many others.
The programme also includes a strong selection of Estonian artists, such as Andres Roots, celebrating his 50th birthday and 30th anniversary on stage, as well as Kadri Voorand and Estonian Voices with their special project “Estonian Voices Meet The Blues Brothers”.
Over three days, the festival presents around 40 concerts and events across approximately 10 stages throughout Haapsalu. The heart of Augustibluus is the courtyard of Haapsalu Episcopal Castle, hosting the main concerts. The programme also includes acoustic concerts at the old railway station, performances along the promenade and in the town, church concerts, poetry evenings and late-night shows at the Haapsalu Cultural Centre.
The festival’s strength lies in its diverse and well-balanced programme, bringing together international headliners, emerging artists and established Estonian musicians. It showcases a wide range of blues styles, from traditional roots blues to contemporary blues rock and soul.
The charming atmosphere of the small seaside town gives Augustibluus its distinctive character. With venues spread across the town, audiences can enjoy both large-scale performances and intimate courtyard concerts. Close interaction between artists and audiences, as well as a lively late-night jam session culture, are also key elements of the festival.
The festival takes place on July 31 – August 2, 2026.
