Maria Listra is a dynamic force on the Estonian classical music scene – a classically trained soprano with an extensive performance background. Her versatile career bridges various facets of music, theatre and culture, spanning from chamber music to opera, and from the Renaissance and Baroque eras to contemporary compositions. Her constant aim is to be an engaging storyteller while remaining faithful to both poet and composer.
Kärt Ruubel is a pianist and passionate chamber musician. She serves as the artistic director of the Chamber Music at Fotografiska festival, which launched in 2022, and is a founding member of the newly established Ludensemble. Her musical journey is defined by dedication, curiosity and professionalism.
When I am alone, I do not tend to sing – there is enough noise in the world already. I only sing to share meaning; singing is my way of expressing myself.
- Maria Listra
Performing Lieds has been a long-held aspiration of mine. For a pianist, it poses a uniquely rewarding challenge, weaving together the human voice, instrumental music, and poetry into seamless creative unity.
- Kärt Ruubel
