Toto Cutugno: The Greatest Italian Hits Live
Some songs need no introduction. Just the first few notes are enough for the entire hall to recognize them.
“L’Italiano”.
“Solo noi”.
“Insieme: 1992”.
“Soli”.
“Serenata”.
These are songs that have shaped Europe’s musical memory for decades. Now, for the first time in Estonia, they will be performed in a special Italian musical concert show dedicated to the work of Maestro Toto Cutugno.
On September 27, the European premiere of “Toto Cutugno’s Greatest Hits” will take place at Vanemuise Concert Hall in Tartu, presented by L’Italiano Orchestra from Italy – an ensemble officially approved by Toto Cutugno’s family.
This is not just a concert of Italian songs.
It is an evening that will take the audience back to a time when Italian music was filled with elegance, melody, sunshine and emotions that cannot be imitated. The Sanremo Festival, grand orchestras, timeless refrains and songs known by entire generations – all of this will come alive in Tallinn for one unforgettable evening.
Toto Cutugno was much more than the performer of one legendary hit. He was a composer, songwriter and one of the most important creators of Italian pop music. His melodies were performed by Joe Dassin, Dalida, Adriano Celentano, Mireille Mathieu, Ricchi e Poveri and many other stars of the European stage.
Cutugno wrote the music for such famous Joe Dassin songs as “Et si tu n’existais pas”, “Salut” and “L’Été indien”. He collaborated with Adriano Celentano, won the Sanremo Festival, triumphed at Eurovision and left behind a repertoire that continues to move listeners today.
Now his music returns to the stage in a form that preserves the spirit of the original – with Italian sensitivity, live sound and respect for the melodies, arrangements and emotions created by the Maestro himself.
L’Italiano Orchestra will present a two-hour musical concert show in which Toto Cutugno’s greatest songs will be performed live by Italian soloists and musicians. Each song will become part of a story about a man who knew how to write simply, beautifully and in a way that made his melodies stay with people for life.
The audience will hear, among others, the hits:
“L’Italiano”
“Solo noi”
“Innamorati”
“Serenata”
“Insieme: 1992”
“Donna”
“Soli”
This is an evening for those who love Italian music, remember Toto Cutugno’s greatest hits and want to feel once again the atmosphere of the golden era of the Italian stage.
Why should you be there?
Because these songs sound most powerful when the whole hall sings them together.
Because Italian music carries emotions that no screen or recording can replace.
Because this is the first opportunity of its kind in Estonia to hear the Maestro’s greatest hits performed by Italian artists in a concert show officially approved by Toto Cutugno’s family.
It will be an evening full of memories, emotions and melodies known all across Europe.
