Vox Clamantis began its activities in 1996, initially performing only Gregorian chant. Quite soon a musical connection was formed with Arvo Pärt, who has since become the ensemble’s most frequently performed composer as Pärt’s music has taken Vox Clamantis all around the world. Vox Clamantis is one of Estonia’s Grammy winners; it has received the Diapason d’Or and has been nominated for the BBC Music Magazine Award, Danish Radio’s Music Award, and the Dutch Edison Award. Their high artistic standard is further confirmed by their collaboration with ECM Records.
