ALO MATTIISEN 65 — what comes from the soul, goes to the soul.

There is something in the music created by Alo Mattiisen that remains. These songs do not bury themselves in dust or lose their power — they still sound, directly and boldly. Alo's 65th birthday concert is a tribute to the creator whose music made the whole country breathe in one rhythm.

On two evenings, artists whose voices and presence are known throughout Estonia will take to the stage to perform Mattiisen's music: Ivo Linna, Ott Lepland, Hardi Volmer, Jan Uuspõld and Liis Koikson. The soloists will be accompanied by a band consisting of Estonian A-class musicians, as well as the EBS Chamber Choir and the VPK Pop Choir conducted by Rasmus Erismaa.

Alo Mattiisen's daughter Mariita Mattiisen will appear before the audience as a special guest.

Beloved patriotic songs and music created by Alo, which have been on the streets and in concert halls at the turn of freedom, will be heard — songs that shaped an entire generation and still speak today. This is not a retrospective, but a living reminder that good music never gets old.
