The Academy of St Martin in the Fields has maintained a prominent presence on global stages since its formation by Sir Neville Marriner in 1958. Renowned for a vast discography that surpasses any other chamber ensemble, the orchestra is widely celebrated for interpretations that define classical standards.
Augustin Hadelich performs on the "Leduc, ex-Szeryng", a rare 1744 Guarneri del Gesù violin. The instrument delivers a deep, resonant tone that complements Hadelich's brilliant technique. In the dual role of soloist and concertmaster, he directs the orchestra from the leader's desk, reviving a tradition common during the Baroque and Classical eras.
