The world begins in the garden; it is where people meet and friendships are born. Paths start from the garden, and paths always lead back to it. The garden is like a heart, providing the rhythm for life.
Throughout the ages, this garden has been filled with people, traditions, and emotions—as well as an abundance of pure and sincere joy for dance. This garden has provided the values that serve as the foundation of life. It has given us the steps that are uniquely ours, carrying us even when our feet do not touch the ground.
The garden is a place for growth and flourishing. It is both the starting point and infinity. All steps begin in the garden. And when you have danced through the world, you realize that the garden has grown larger, becoming a home for everyone you met along the way.
Dance Ensemble Sõprus invites all friends of Sõprus to the Alexela Concert Hall on May 16 at 6:00 PM to celebrate the ensemble's anniversary with the concert "Õu"!
"Õu"(garden) brings to the stage both current dances and those performed over the decades, creating a bridge between different generations. In addition to traditional Estonian folk dances, the program will feature dances from other nations that have been part of Sõprus’s diverse repertoire throughout the years.
The dances are staged by the ensemble’s artistic directors Agne Kurrikoff-Herman and Kätrin Järvis, and instructor Richard Beljohin.
The event is supported by the City of Tallinn.
