Li Yi and Chung Wen are a lesbian couple with a simple job: delivering drugs. At a nightclub, they meet Chang Kai, who offers them a lift. The lift becomes a drive south, and somewhere along the way they steal a gun. With a weapon in hand, the three decide to administer their own justice and the trip spirals into crime, desire, and a complicated erotic triangle. Each of them is running from something, and two already know how this ends.
Li Yi only wants a life of her own. Chung Wen calls it protection, though it's really control. Chang Kai is fleeing a self he cannot name. As their world blurs, the film asks what memories we make, where the line falls between humans and gods, and what makes a life worth living. Myth and symbolism bleed through characters who may not be human at all.
Driven by an elaborate, propulsive sound design, this is a daring film built to give off fireworks. By morning, Li Yi is alone on the sleeping streets of Taipei, holding the gun left behind, like her. Her first weapon. Her first autonomy. One shot breaks the quiet.
