Oliiviõli meistriklass sommeljeega Kreekast
Do you know how to recognize truly high-quality extra virgin olive oil?
For the first time in Estonia! Meet Margeta Sevasti, a fourth-generation Greek olive grower, agronomist, and certified olive oil sommelier, and gain practical knowledge you can use every time you choose olive oil.
This is not simply an olive oil tasting, but a warm and practical masterclass where Margeta shares her family’s story, shows you how olive oil is actually made, and teaches you how to recognize quality.
Margeta’s Story
Margeta is a fourth-generation olive grower, agronomist, and certified olive oil sommelier from Karystos on the Greek island of Evia. She will share how Agrelidi began with the olive trees planted by her great-grandfather, Panagis, and why she is committed to keeping her family’s legacy alive.
From the Olive Grove to the Bottle
With the help of photos and videos from Greece, you will discover the entire olive oil-making process — how the trees are grown and cared for, how the olives are harvested, how the oil is produced, and how it is bottled.
What Makes Extra Virgin Olive Oil Special?
Margeta will explain the differences between the various categories of olive oil, how to recognize truly high-quality extra virgin olive oil, and what to pay attention to when choosing olive oil.
Polyphenols and Health
In simple and easy-to-understand language, you will learn about polyphenols, their potential benefits, and the European Union’s official health claim regarding olive oil polyphenols.
Olive Oil Tasting
You will learn how to taste olive oil correctly, how to evaluate its aroma and flavour, and how to recognize quality. Margeta will bring professional tasting glasses and all the necessary equipment.
Questions and Conversation
At the end of each tasting, there will be time for questions and an informal conversation with Margeta.
What Will You Take Away?
You will understand the entire journey from the olive grove to the bottle and learn how to recognize and choose high-quality extra virgin olive oil yourself. This will help you make more informed choices and consciously support your health.
