Duduk Concert “Whisper of the Mountains” – For the First Time in Estonia
Experience a unique musical journey into the soul of Armenia at the Niguliste Museum. This special concert offers a chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and find peace through deep, meditative music.
What is the Duduk?
The duduk is a traditional Armenian woodwind instrument made from apricot wood, with a history of over 2,000 years. Recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, its human-like tone conveys profound emotions - longing, hope, and inner peace.
Performers
At the heart of the evening is internationally acclaimed duduk player Tigran Tumanyan, joined by outstanding musicians in a unique musical dialogue:
· Jelena Jesajana - Vocal
· Rihards Libietis - Guitar & Composition
· Sigvards Dizais - Percussion
· Tomas Anchs - Cello
· Olga Buchinska - Violin
“For me, the sound of the duduk is like a prayer that takes you deep into memories and inner experiences.”
- Tigran Tumanyan
The historic arches of Niguliste Church combined with the haunting sound of the duduk create an atmosphere where time seems to stand still. This concert is for those who seek honesty, depth, and emotional resonance in music.
