At the end of the 19th century, young solicitor Jonathan Harker and his fiancée Mina are planning their wedding. However, his professional duties force Jonathan to leave his beloved and travel to Transylvania, where he is to meet a mysterious count who wishes to purchase property in London…
The story was written by Irish author Bram Stoker. His novel has since inspired numerous stage productions and films, with each director creating a different interpretation of events. Now the famous story comes to the stage of Alexela Kontserdimaja as a musical on ice.
World-class figure skaters bring the novel’s iconic characters to life on ice: Mina and Jonathan, devoted to one another; young Lucy; the courageous Van Helsing, who has dedicated his life to battling dark forces; ruthless vampires; and, of course, the sinister Count Dracula. The artists of the international ensemble MUSICAL ON ICE draw the audience into a whirlwind of fear, rage, passion and love.
The production combines breathtaking acrobatics, aerial gymnastics, juggling with real fire, video installations, Gothic costumes and sets that evoke the dark world of vampires. A mirror ball casts hundreds of white beams of light across the auditorium, creating the impression that light is overcoming darkness.
The musical features an original score with moving songs and instrumental compositions. Music, special effects and mesmerizing figure skating create a chilling atmosphere and help tell the poignant story of Count Dracula — a love story that transcends time and distance.
The performance is in English with Estonian subtitles.
