Snatam Kaur live Peace Through Sacred Chant (13.04 asendus)
Snatam Kaur will play at the Alexela Concert Hall in Tallinn on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. as part of her European tour. Her new album, “Beloved,” will be featured, along with songs from her catalog of classic world devotional CDs. Kaur’s other recordings include “Prem,” “Grace,” “Anand” and “Liberation’s Door and Light of the Naam,” which feature traditional sacred mantras and expansive musical settings blending Eastern and Western influences.
“The concert is an opportunity for people to be awakened to the power of mantra,” she says; “to fall in love with mantras and be healed by them. With these concerts I hope to connect people with these mantras so that they get a sense of their own intrinsic light and love. I know for myself that chanting together in these settings is super healing and super powerful for relieving stress, tension and that feeling of being overwhelmed that I think is pretty common for in this day and age. It’s a way for people to come and find that sense of peace again.”
Snatam Kaur is an American singer, peace activist and author raised in the Sikh and Kundalini Yoga tradition. She transforms traditional Sikh chants of India into a contemporary sound that appeals to the modern ear. For over twenty years, she studied with and grew up in the presence of her spiritual teacher, Yogi Bhajan. While he was in his physical form, she learned learning the essence of Naad Yoga, a form of yoga focusing on sacred sound. At the core of this practice is an essential experience of peace and healing which has helped her music to be accessible to people of all walks of life.
She has taught and shared Naad Yoga and Kundalini Yoga and meditation through her recorded CDs, concerts, and workshops for the past sixteen years as a part of her commitment to give people tools for a daily experience of inner peace. Her new book, “Original Light; the Morning Practice of Kundalini Yoga,” is a compassionate and supportive guide to creating a personal daily spiritual practice.
