Iceland’s post-rock/electronica band Low Roar will present a new album in Fotografiska in the spring
The Icelandic post-rock/electronic band Low Roar will present their new album “maybe tomorrow” on November 23rd, in Fotografiska. Tickets are on sale in Piletilevi starting today.
The initiator and soloist of the project, Ryan Karazija, is an artist-traveller. However, his journey through life and music is not just about himself. It is also for listeners who find the path they want to take, or the place they’ve long been looking for, in Low Roar’s music.
After moving to Reykjavik in 2010, Karazija turned to a more introverted and intimate sound. Highly influenced by local folk bands, their self-titled debut album was released on 1. November in 2011 by an independent record label Tonequake Records. The second album „0”, released in 2014, was a breakthrough. After many great reviews, Low Roar went on tour around the world. The aesthetics of „0” was compared to Radiohead or Sigur Rós, mainly due to the increasingly complex, sometimes almost epic, sound. The album “maybe tomorrow” to be presented on the tour is Low Roar’s fifth.
The latest album was recorded with Mike Lindsay, Andrew Scheps and Ricky Linstrom. On the record, gentle and sleepy sounds become components of songs with a powerful emotional charge – from longing through thirst, helplessness and even fear. Listening to the album piece by piece gives the impression that you are entering a single, extensive and engaging story. „maybe tomorrow” is one of the most expressive albums in Low Roar’s discography. This album is an autonomous story that adds completely new tones to Ryan Karazija’s colour palette. This is an album that consumes the listener and requires him to fully immerse in the story.
Low Roar will present the magic of his new album to the Estonian audience on the 23rd of November in Tallinn, at Fotografiska. Tickets are available at Piletilevi.
