Psycherence 2018

What is consciousness? Recent decades have raised more questions than answers. Modern science, based on measuring does not give us sufficient answers. Might it be that a man of the 21st century is not yet ready to understand the nature of the consciousness he carries? What are the tools available for us to explore, influence and experience consciousness?

PSYCHERENCE, the conference of consciousness and psychedelics, offers an opportunity to meet the planet’s four leading scientists on these fields. Psycherence brings to Tallinn the latest discoveries, which can provide answers to the question about the existence of humanity.

Dr. Susan Blackmore (UK) - a psychologist, lecturer and writer researching consciousness, memes, and anomalous experiences, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Plymouth. She is a TED lecturer, blogs for the Guardian, and often appears on radio and  television. Her book "The Meme Machine" has been translated into 16 other languages.

Jeremy Narby (Switzerland) - an anthropologist who works as Amazonian projects coordinator for a Swiss humanitarian organization Nouvelle Plan?te.
Narby spent several years living with the Ashaninca in the Peruvian Amazon cataloging indigenous uses of rainforest resources to help combat ecological destruction.
He has written several books about the systems of knowledge of Amazonian peoples and their possible connection with science, such as “The cosmic serpent, DNA and the origins of knowledge” and “Intelligence in nature”.

Dennis McKenna (USA) - ethnopharmacologist, research pharmacognosist, lecturer and author. He is a senior research scientist for the Natural Health Products Research Group at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in the Vancouver area and is a founding board member and the director of ethnopharmacology at the Heffter Research Institute, a non-profit organization concerned with the investigation of the potential therapeutic uses of psychedelic medicines.

Luis Eduardo Luna (Brazil) - an anthropologist, director of Wasiwaska, a research center for the study of psychointegrator plants, visionary art, and consciousness in Florianópolis. He is a Guggenheim Fellow, and a Fellow of The Linnean Society.

Price includes coffee breaks, snacks and lunch.
