                                      BONEY M /Tribute Show/

In two exclusive concert shows on August 27th in Dzintari Concert Hall and August 28th in Liepaja Concert Hall "Put vejini!" Latvia will have an opportunity to enjoy the most famous songs of the disco group BONEY M, in the program - The Sounds of Boney M.

Previously artists visited our country very recently - in 2019, when the band made its current public appearance. All tickets for the April 26 concert at the Riga Congress House had been sold out long before the due date.
This encouraged the group's managers to allow the artists to return to Latvia again and organize two grand concerts.
This will be a great opportunity to participate at a glorious, fast-paced event that will feature popular disco-style songs and everyone can get involved!

The Sounds of Boney M will feature all of the band's most famous hits - Daddy Cool, Ma Baker, Belfast, Sunny, Rasputin, Rivers of Babylon and more.

Artists will perform on stage with the accompanying band LIGHT MUSIC BAND, which includes eight professional musicians. This will be an unforgettable show with gorgeous costumes, disco decorations and dancers' performances!

The creation of the group BONEY M can be traced back to the Second World War, when in the summer of 1941 a boy named Franz Reuther was born in the family of a leather factory worker and church choir soloist in  Kirna, a small German town.

Countless American war bases were located in Saarbrücken, as in many places in post-war Germany. Franci was attracted to its inhabitants like a magnet. There was a completely different atmosphere there compared to the pedantic and order loving Germans. And, of course, music. Franci was bound by everything what was called "black music" - Sam Cook, Little Richard and Otis Reding.
Francis and his repertoire were very popular at local pubs, where home sick American soldiers mostly gathered.
Out of respect for American culture, he presented himself on stage not as Francis, but as Frankie Farian.
The real events began in December 1974, when Frank Farian recorded a song that did not resemble  anything that had been sang before. Under the pseudonym Zambie, he transformed the song "Al Capone" by the popular Jamaican artist Prince Basseter in the 1960s.
It was later called "Baby Do You Wanna Bump". He sang the vocal parts himself - both the extremely low voice of the man, which was processed in the studio, and all the backing vocals in the falsetto.
The single was released by Hansa Records in February 1975 and was titled BONEY M.
A year later, BONEY M's greatest success followed, with the song "Daddy Cool" shaking the world and convincingly topping the world charts.
The second BONEY M album "Love For Sale" was scheduled for release in the summer of 1977. As often happens, commercial singles came out faster - already in May, the song “Ma Baker” reached the audience, which was destined to become the best-selling disco single in the history of music.
Ma Baker echoed the success of the previous single, Sunny, which topped the German and UK polls and sold eight million copies worldwide.
At the end of 1977, BONEY M received numerous awards from various music-related organizations, including the Karl Allen Award as the most successful band in the UK.
Since then, BONEY M has become the acknowledged leader in the development of the disco music genre.
