Reminder for the visitors of METALLICA concert in Tartu

CONCERT

Raadi Airfield will open its gates on July 18 at 4 pm (Gates remain open till the end of the event. You can entry the concert area with your ticket only once). General Admission and Golden Circle tickets holders can enter the venue through gates A, B and C.  Please come early as ticket control and security procedures might take time! There will 60 000 fans attending the show.

All sold concert tickets (incl. tickets issued on a security paper) are equipped with unique bar code. All tickets are unique and non-recurrent and they shall be scanned at the gates upon entry into Raadi Airfield, including paper tickets! The right to enter the venue is granted to the ticket holder ONLY after scanning the ticket. After the first reading and use of the bar code it will automatically become invalid. Thus the entry is granted only to the person who submits valid bar code first. Entry is denied upon the submission of copied ticket or recurrent entry with the same ticket. The same applies to paper tickets – e.g. if somebody allows a good friend to copy the bar code of the original ticket and both of them try to enter the venue, then access will be granted only to the person who submits the code first. Organiser of the concert is not obliged to ascertain the circumstances of recurrent use of the same bar code. Keep your ticket safe, just as you do with your money or other valuables. In case of any ticket-related questions or problems feel free to get assistance from the representatives of Piletilevi, the event ticketing company who will be at each gate waiting to help you. Every visitor (including children) should have a separate ticket. Age restrictions apply.

PLEASE BE INFORMED THAT FORGING OR COPYING A TICKET WITH THE INTENTION OF USING SUCH COPY FOR ILLEGALLY ENTERING THE VENUE IS A CRIME PUNISHABLE ACCORDING TO ESTONIAN LAWS! We don’t recommend buying electronically issued tickets on secondary market.

Golden Circle tickets holders can enter the venue from gates A, B and C. After ticket control and entrance to the concert venue, holders of fan zone tickets can access Golden Circle from both sides of the area. There is no access to Golden Circle with a wheelchair.

VIP-packages holders (The ‘Dream No More’ Experience, The ‘All Nightmare Long’ Experience ja The ‘Shortest Straw’ Package) will be provided with the full information via e-mail. In case you still haven’t received a letter four days prior the show please write to the address printed on your ticket.

NB! Flying a drone over the Raadi Airfield and its surroundings is strictly prohibited!


 

TRAFFIC AND PARKING

Leave your car at home, use the means of public transport instead or come by bike or on foot.

Those parking tickets holders heading to the show from outside Tartu should pay attention to the signs installed on the side of the main motorways. Metallica concert’s official parking areas are open to visitors on 18th July from 9:00 am until 19th July 3:00 am.

NB! Entrance from:
Narva maantee (Google Maps / Waze(those coming from Tallinn road side)
and 
Pajula tee (Rõõmu-Viira) (Google Maps / Waze(those coming from Lithuania, Latvia, Pärnu, Viljandi, Valga, Võru side).

Parking tickets can be purchased only in advance at Piletilevi / Biļešu Serviss / Bilietai online shop. The number of parking spaces is limited. Following car park’s rules is strictly mandatory for all occupants in the parking area. Read more: Metallica parking lots.

Parking and stopping on the streets close to the Estonian National Museum and its gates is strictly prohibited. 

This includes:
Kõrveküla-Tartu roadway (speed limit applies on July 18)
Erm street
Raadi airfield public areas
Raadiraja street
Roosi street
Jänese street

Vehicle access to gates, Muuseumi, Raadiraja, Ermi and Roosi streets will be restricted.

WE STRONGLY REQUEST TO FOLLOW THE INDICATIONS OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES AND SIGNALS GIVEN BY THE TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICERS!



 

NB! Access to the visitors of the Estonian National Museum is guaranteed until 15:00 on 17 July. Parking and traffic is regulated by traffic controllers. The Estonian National Museum is closed for visitors on 18 July. The museum (exhibitions, restaurant, shop) is open again during its usual opening hours (10-18) on 19 July and visitors can enter via Entrance A.

NB! PARKING ON THE SIDEWALKS AND PAVEMENT IS PROHIBITED! Do not leave valuable items at sight in your car. Use additional anti-theft locking. ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED AT VEHICLE OWNERS EXPENSE. 

Those disable people using wheelchairs can enter via gates A, B or C. Disable visitors (wheelchair / vision impairment) vehicles parking places is located near the gate B.  There is special tribune for the wheelchairs available (accessible only with a valid wheelchair tribute ticket).

Bicycle parking is located at gate A. Free of charge. We’d suggest locking your bike wheels just in case.

 

TAKE ALONG

  • cash! Part of commercial transactions at the sales points during the concert (sales of food, drinks, merchandise, etc) are made in cash. There is NO ATMs at Raadi Airfield!
  • raincoat
  • good mood, sense of humour and calmness

NB! Despite the fact that Estonia belongs to the Schengen area, the border guard may still check your travel documents – therefore all the visitors coming from abroad should carry valid ID card or passport!

Mobile phones: the visitors should still consider that the networks may become overloaded and that mobile communication may be disturbed. It would be the best to agree on a certain meeting point with your family and friends.

In case of hot weather keep your head covered and consume sufficient amount of fluids to avoid sunstroke, dehydration, heatstroke.

NB! Age limit 3 yrs. Suggested age 6+ yrs. Strollers are considered inconvenient and dangerous for moving in a crowd of people. Be sure to provide your child with your name and phone number (write it down on paper or on child’s wrist). After 24:00 the children under the age of 16 should be accompanied by an adult.

 

NOT ALLOWED

Access to the concert is denied to persons who are strongly intoxicated, aggressive or disturbing to others.
The persons are not allowed to the concert in case of carrying the following items:

  • umbrellas (these limit the view of audience)
  • own food and drinks 
  • any kind of bottles, jars, cans and other containers 
  • professional or semiprofessional cameras (still or digital), recording equipment (sound or video). Photo cameras will only be allowed as long as they are non professional, and do not have a zoom or detachable lens. No cameras with a lens that is larger then the face of a regular watch (40mm) are allowed.
  • Go-Pro cameras and selfie sticks
  • tablets (incl. iPads) and laptops
  • posters, banners, signs and flags of any kind 

  • any kind of firearms and cut-and-thrust weapons, chains, syringes, pyrotechnics, laser pens and pointers, dangerous substances and objects
  • alcohol and narcotic drugs
  • pets
  • bicycles, roller skates and skateboards, motorcycle helmets, any kind of chairs incl. campstools
  • excess baggage and objects – do not carry huge bags or unnecessary items that may slow down the screening at the gate. Paid luggage storage is available at gates A, B and C. Fee is 5 euros.  Huge bags, backpacks, suitcases etc is extra fee.

Lost and found office is located at gate C and it is open until the end of the event on July 18After that all documents and valuables that have been found shall be handed over to the police.

Remain CALM! At such a big event everything takes time – such as ticket control and security procedures for visitors, purchase of snacks and drinks, etc. Do to others what you would like to be done to you. Keep in mind that security staff is focused on just doing their job, not on your persecution. Please be sure to follow their requests as told. Examine the information concerning the concert and plan of the area in time. Ambulance, rescue service and police as well as first aid stations are present at the concert.
