GUIDED TOURS AT THE SÜDALINNA THEATRE

In 2026, the Südalinna Theatre building celebrates its 100th anniversary. It was here, in 1926, that Gloria Palace — Estonia’s first and only luxury cinema — first opened its doors. Over the past century, the building has stood at the heart of Tallinn’s cultural life and remains one of the city’s most remarkable and iconic theatre venues.

As part of Tallinn Old Town Days from 5–7 June 2026, visitors will have the chance to visit this beautiful historic building and discover its fascinating story through guided tours in Estonian, Russian, and English at a special festival price: 5 euros per person.

Are you curious to find out what really happens behind the theatre curtain? Our tours offer a rare opportunity to experience the theatre from the inside — through the eyes of actors, directors, designers, and backstage crews. Hidden from the audience is an entirely different world, full of stories, craftsmanship, and theatrical magic.

During the tour, visitors will discover the history of Gloria Palace and the Südalinna Theatre, learn about the construction of this landmark building in the heart of the capital, and hear stories about the renowned architects and theatre artists who have worked here throughout the years.
