Kikumu 2026

9.-12. July 2026

Jäneda Training Centre

KIKUMU is back!

Four days of cinema, art and music!

Music. Five stages across indoor and outdoor spaces: a main outdoor stage, four indoor stages, the lakeside stage at Kali Lake, and this year the festival area also expands to include the beautiful Jäneda Manor.

Joining the lineup is A Guy Called Gerald and his Black Secret Technology, a rare performance of one of the most influential jungle records of all time — and the only show of its kind in the region. Also performing are Iiris Vesik’s internationally acclaimed Night Tapes, the nine-piece jazz, afrobeat and soul group Nubiyan Twist, Nigerian disco pioneer Oby Onyioha, South African funk-hip-hop-punk band BCUC, German tech-house duo Booka Shade, Irish singer-songwriter Maria Somerville, London-based jazz fusion rising star Divine Earth, and, by popular demand from both the audience and the man himself, DJ Gilles Peterson.

The list of foreign artists is growing, but be prepared for mega surprises!

From Estonia, the lineup includes jazz pianist Kirke Karja, local indie legends Ans. Andur, the trickster Meisterjaan, romanti-pop outfit Zebra Island, hard-hitting noise-rockers Fuzzolini, left-field electronic Kiwanoid, psych-jazz band Wrupk Urei, Säde Semper, and many more, as well as party series such as Afro Chill, Club Rats, Öömaja, Haigla Pidu, Mutant Disco Classics, and others.

Cinema. The film programme will be curated by cinema Sõprus, the oldest independent cinema in Estonia. The KIKUMU film line-up will span multiple genres, including art films and documentaries. Movies will be shown in the Jäneda manor and outdoors.

Art program. Art exhibitions will be presented throughout the labyrinthine spaces of the training centre by galleries Artrovert, Art&Tonic, FoKu, KoGo, Tütar, and Vaal. The art programme will, as last year, feature new exhibitions and site-specific works by both Estonian and international artists.

Special programmes will be curated by the experimental media outlet Levila and the creative collective Laevuke.

New programs!

KIKUMU Nature – wild and creative hikes around Nelijärve and Kalijärve.

KIKUMU Kids – workshops and activities for the little ones and the whole family. The trampoline will also be pumped up.

KIKUMU Talks – in collaboration with Levila, talks on media, culture, society and technology will be heard.

KIKUMU Running Club – a healthy body, a healthy mind!

The heart of the festival is the Jäneda Learning Center (Jäneda Õppekeskus), designed by Valve Pormeister and built in 1975 next to the Jäneda Manor House, a former state farm technical school. The exceptional modernist building is among the 10 most important buildings in Estonia of the last 100 years! The main building of Jäneda Manor, completed in 1915, will also be opened for the festival for the first time. This is the place where the father of science fiction H.G. Wells, and Estonia's own Mata Hari, the Jäneda Manor House Lady Mura, have spent their summers.

Jäneda Training Centre is just an hour’s drive from the capital Tallinn. The festival can also be easily reached by train on the Tallinn–Tartu or Tallinn–Aegviidu line.
