Eduard Tubin was a conductor for male choirs throughout almost his entire creative career. His sonic ideal was the Estonian National Male Choir, whose performances he often listened to on the radio while living in exile. It was with this ensemble in mind that Tubin composed his final major work, "Reekviem langenud sõduritele".
The Estonian National Male Choir is pleased to present their new CD featuring music by Eduard Tubin as part of the festival. The album is set for release in autumn 2026 by the American label Divine Art. Alongside Tubin’s requiem, featuring soloist Iris Oja, the concert will include various other pieces for male choir by the composer.
