“Who we are depends on where we are.” These were the words used by research lead Gabriella Harari to summarise the findings of an extensive 2020 study at Stanford University. How did the city of Tartu influence the creative figures working there during Eduard Tubin’s years in Estonia? Enn Lillemets explores the representation of Tartu through the lenses of art and the written word.
