Boris Barsky. “I Know How to Make People Happy”

You know him without words — literally. The star of the legendary Maski-Show theatre, People’s Artist of Ukraine Boris Barsky has been making audiences laugh on screen and on stage for decades. Now you have a rare chance to attend his anniversary evening.

On 8 November 2026, on the stage of the Lindakivi Cultural Centre concert hall (J. Koorti 22, Tallinn), the living legend of clownery will meet his audience without masks or a script. It is a live conversation with the audience that holds everything the artist has mastered: poetry and pantomime, lyrical songs and dance, magic tricks, and behind-the-scenes stories from the Maski-Show tours you won’t hear anywhere else.

Barsky is a one-man orchestra: a comedian with the face of a tragedian, a mime who writes poetry, and a poet whose silences are funnier than most people’s jokes. Every evening is created anew — from the audience’s questions, the mood, and improvisation. No two shows are ever the same.

The performance features excerpts from Barsky’s books: “Lyricisms” (poetry), “Playing the Classics” (plays), “Make-Believe” (a book for and about children), and “Black Kittens” (prose about artists’ adventures on tour).

The evening is held in Russian.
