TheRoom Live 2026 - SASHA

At this year’s annual TheRoom LIVE event, taking place on May 8, one of the original British superstar DJs — SASHA will perform in Riga. Sasha has been named World’s No.1 DJ multiple times and is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in electronic music history.

For more than a decade, TheRoom LIVE has been an undisputed part of Riga’s vibrant nightlife culture. Traditionally, the TheRoom dance event is announced only once a year, with a different unique location chosen each time — ranging from a loft with a cozy rooftop terrace, to a gallery in central Riga, a theatre, or even a museum. In spring 2024, TheRoom LIVE took place in the magical setting of the Anglican Church. Following tradition, the location of this year’s event will be revealed closer to the event date, but true to TheRoom’s concept, it is once again expected to be an exclusive and unconventional venue.

The headline guest of this year’s event will be Sasha (real name Alexander Coe), a British electronic music icon who has effectively defined the superstar DJ era since the early 2000s. A DJ, producer, and composer, Sasha is one of the true pioneers of electronic music, with an influence spanning more than three decades on the global dance music scene.

Named World’s No.1 DJ in the prestigious DJ Mag poll, Sasha is widely considered a pioneer of the progressive house genre. He rose to international prominence in the 1990s with the iconic mix albums Renaissance: The Mix Collection and the Northern Exposure series, created together with John Digweed.

Sasha is also renowned for his legendary residencies at clubs such as Twilo, Space Ibiza, and Fabric. His Involver mix-album series significantly reshaped the boundaries between DJing and music production, while his studio albums Airdrawndagger, Scene Delete, and LUZOSCURA revealed a cinematic and experimental sonic vision.

Sasha has long been at the forefront of technological innovation. In 2005, during his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix recorded at Maida Vale Studios, he впервые showcased his self-developed Maven controller alongside an Ableton Live setup — a performance now regarded as one of the most innovative broadcasts in BBC history. He later expanded this hybrid approach into live performances with his Refracted: Live project, including an orchestral performance at London’s Barbican Centre.

Through his record label Last Night on Earth, Sasha continues to support emerging talent and forward-thinking sound exploration. In 2022, he composed music for the exhibition Genius: The Score, dedicated to the works of Leonardo da Vinci, further expanding his creative horizons. He has also collaborated with FKA twigs in genre-defying studio sessions, demonstrating a constant evolution and openness to new artistic territories.

From underground raves to large-scale global tours, the multiple International Dance Music Awards winner, Grammy nominee, and one of the original British superstar DJs remains a restless innovator whose work continues to inspire artists and audiences worldwide.

Joining Sasha at this year’s TheRoom LIVE event will be the legendary Lithuanian DJ duo Marius Ivanoff and Mindaugelis. These cult Lithuanian DJs, with a legion of fans in Latvia, have played only a few exclusive B2B sets in recent years, making every show together a must-see, in Baltics.
