Robert Plant and Saving Grace featuring Suzi Dian to perform at Sigulda Castle open-air stage

On 17 July 2027, legendary Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant will perform at Sigulda Castle open-air stage with Saving Grace and singer Suzi Dian. One of rock music’s most recognisable voices will invite listeners on a musical journey that brings together blues, folk, gospel, country and psychedelic sounds.

Tickets will go on general sale across the Biļešu serviss PLG network on 30 October, while L Tips Agency newsletter subscribers will have access from 28 October.

Robert Plant’s creative journey has always been driven by a desire to discover new musical territories. He achieved worldwide fame as the lead singer of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, but in the decades that followed, he continued to surprise audiences with adventurous collaborations and his distinctive musical vision. His Grammy-winning partnership with singer and violinist Alison Krauss, as well as his Band of Joy and Sensational Space Shifters projects, are vivid examples of this approach. Saving Grace is the next chapter in this ongoing journey of discovery.

The group formed in 2019 on the border between England and Wales, its members brought together by a shared passion for music from different eras. It began informally, with conversations at a local pub, the sharing of favourite songs and a desire to discover how they might sound together. Their first concerts took place in small local venues with little publicity. The enforced pause brought about by the pandemic gave them time to develop their collective sound at an unhurried pace, recording both in a studio set up in a barn and outdoors, with microphones suspended from trees.

Although Plant is the best-known name, Saving Grace is built on an equal musical partnership between its members. Suzi Dian’s voice plays a special role, intertwining with Plant’s vocals in subtle harmonies and taking the lead on certain songs.

“I knew that for many of these songs I needed another voice,” Plant says of the group’s beginnings. Dian’s arrival became a crucial step in shaping Saving Grace’s musical identity.

Alongside Plant and Dian, the group features guitarist Tony Kelsey, guitarist and banjo player Matt Worley, percussionist Oli Jefferson and cellist Barney Morse-Brown, also known by his stage name Duotone. Their interplay of acoustic instruments draws on blues and folk traditions, with echoes of Malian desert blues, hypnotic rhythms and psychedelic moods.

The group’s self-titled album, Saving Grace, co-produced by Plant and his fellow musicians, reveals a wide range of influences. Traditional songs and spiritual repertoire sit alongside interpretations of music by Low, The Low Anthem and Moby Grape. The four-track EP Saving Grace: All That Glitters... continues this musical exploration, drawing on traditional melodies as well as the work of Gillian Welch and Bert Jansch.

Saving Grace’s concerts are characterised by the musicians’ attentive listening to one another, vocal harmony and an ability to uncover new emotional depth in familiar songs. The historic setting of Sigulda Castle open-air stage will provide a distinctive backdrop for this music: a summer evening in which to experience Robert Plant’s voice and the sound created by his fellow musicians in person.
