Teater Gesher etendusega ''Teistsugune maailm''. Ksenia Rappoport ja Genri David / Театр Гешер спектакль - ''Не тот свет'' - Ксения Раппопорт и Генри Давид
An event not to be missed!
The legendary Gesher Theatre returns to Tallinn with “Beyond The Light” — a subtle, ironic, and deeply moving story about a meeting that changes everything.
This production marks Ksenia Rappoport’s first collaboration with Gesher Theatre, making it one of the most anticipated theatrical events of the season.
Critics have described Ksenia Rappoport’s stage presence as “hypnotic” and “remarkably honest,” noting her rare ability to hold an audience with a single glance or pause. In a powerful duet with Henry David, she creates a tense, vibrant, and unexpectedly touching dialogue where humor, absurdity, and existential depth intertwine.
The performance is based on a play by Marina Stepnova and Avdotya Smirnova, authors known for their precision, irony, and deep attention to the inner life of their characters.
At the heart of the story is an unplanned encounter between two unconventional figures, each unaware of their own “otherness” until circumstances force them to confront both themselves and one another.
The characters find themselves in a new world assembled from fragments of the former reality — familiar yet grotesque, paradoxical, and unsettlingly funny. This world reflects our own sense of reality: fragile, strange, and constantly slipping away.
The stage space, designed by artist and scenographer Ksenia Peretrukhina, is composed of elements of everyday life that come together as a new mosaic — logical and absurd at the same time — highlighting the characters’ inner states and intensifying the emotional impact of the production.
“Beyond The Light” is a performance watched in complete silence and discussed long after the curtain falls. It is humorous and unsettling, light in form yet profound in meaning. Once again, Gesher Theatre speaks to its audience in a contemporary language — honestly, boldly, and without moralizing.
