Intimately exquisite Beethoven!

Ludwig van Beethoven did not only compose chamber music, but also arranged his own orchestral works for chamber ensembles. The most striking example is his Symphony No. 2, which the composer arranged for piano trio!

However, other composers have also created chamber versions of his works. Thus, Beethoven's piano concertos will resonate in the Laulasmaa hall in an arrangement created over 100 years ago by composer and conductor Vinzenz Lachner (1811–1893), where the pianist's stage partner is a string quintet.

Alongside the piano concertos, the concert evening features music that is chamber music in its truest, most intimate sense - works by Arvo Pärt for string quartet, a rare genre among the composer's creations.
