Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera is a compelling story of love, loyalty and betrayal, where political intrigue and forbidden passion lead to an unforgettable finale - the lavish masked ball. Hidden emotions are revealed, and fate takes its course. The Portugese theatre presents a contemporary production directed by Stefano Vizioli. The staging features striking costumes by internationally acclaimed designer Chiara Amalthea Ciarelli, whose work has graced the stages of La Scala, the Paris National Opera, and other renown venues.

Premiered in 1859 at the Teatro Apollo in Rome, this remains one of Verdi’s most distinctive and compelling compositions.
