Ticket sales for the Biathlon World Championships in Otepää have started
On 10–21 February 2027, LaVita IBU Biathlon World Championships will be held at Tehvandi Sports Centre. From 14 March, two-week, one-week, and weekend passes for the World Championships will be available for purchase.
The LaVita IBU Biathlon World Championships in Otepää will be the largest sporting event ever held in Estonia. Over ten competition days, eight individual world champions and four relay world champions will be decided. “Biathlon World Cup events held in Estonia have shown that Estonians and sports fans from neighbouring countries have a strong interest in attending competitions in Otepää, and the start of ticket sales has been eagerly awaited,” said Aivar Nigol, Chairman of the Organising Committee.
During the World Championships, the Tehvandi stadium will be able to accommodate approximately 20,000 spectators. The goal of the Organising Committee is to provide all spectators and athletes with a powerful and immersive sporting experience. “The World Championships will certainly be an organisational challenge, as the event will last for nearly two weeks. We look forward to welcoming spectators to the venue so that together we can show what great fans of biathlon we are,” Nigol added.
“Hosting top-level competitions at home is extremely important both for the development of the sport and for the local community. They give athletes the opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd and offer young people an inspiring chance to see the world’s best biathletes with their own eyes – role models they may one day aspire to become,” said Tarmo Kärsna, President of the Estonian Biathlon Federation.
Spectators can watch the races from the grandstands as well as from trackside viewing areas, where screens will be installed. “Depending on the grandstand chosen, spectators can get a close view of the start, finish, and shooting range. On the track, athletes will pass very close to the spectators, providing a truly immersive sports experience," Nigol said. In addition to the top-tier sporting event, visitors will also be offered a cultural and leisure program suitable for the whole family.
Starting from 14 March, Piletilevi will offer a two-week pass valid for the entire World Championships period, weekly passes valid for either the first or second week, and weekend passes. Day passes will go on sale in autumn 2026.
