Corelli Music is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the agency and bringing one of the greatest works of the Baroque era, Händel’s Messiah, to the audience in the concert series ‘Church Holidays in the Land of Mary’ for Easter, the most joyful holiday of the church calendar. PROGRAMME: George Friedrich Händel’s Messiah HWV 56 (1741)

 

Corelli Music will once again delight audiences with the concert series ‘Church Holidays in the Land of Mary’, which began in spring 2006. This time, the concerts will celebrate the agency’s 20th anniversary on Easter Sunday, 31 March, at St. John’s Church in Tallinn and on 2 April in St. John’s Church in Tartu. Estonia’s top soloists, the chamber choir Collegium Musicale, the Corelli Baroque Orchestra on period instruments, and conductor Martin Sildos will perform one of the greatest works of the Baroque era, Händel’s Messiah, for Easter, the most joyful holiday of the church calendar. The piece is often played at Christmas, but in its essence, this powerful masterpiece belongs in the Easter season.

 

The concert in Tartu is part of the additional programme of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024.
