At the heart of the concert is the male choir's journey of discovery in the world of new music.
Victoria Poleva is a preeminent Ukrainian composer who creates stunningly beautiful works, often religious in nature. Interweaving sacred and secular texts and musical traditions of many eras, Polevá has since set herself apart as one of the most original composers of today, one whose works are frequently performed by leading musicians around the globe.
The most important works of the Ukrainian-born Finnish composer Vladimir Agopov are his Cello concerto "Tres viae" (1984/1987), the concerto "Homage to Master" (2013) and "Motetus" for chamber choir, organ, harp and percussion (2012). Agopov has won several composition competitions in Finland.
