What is the secret of the centuries-old popularity of Johann Sebastian Bach's music?

Did you know that Bach's music is full of mathematical formulas, equations, anagrams, and coded messages? How did Bach encode his own name into the main theme of the Fugue? How do the polyphonic layers of Bach's music perfectly match the harmony?

These and many other questions will be answered in the unique lecture-concert "Bach and His Time", presented by the legendary violinist and teacher, professor at the Juilliard School in New York, Lewis Kaplan. Together with Professor Kaplan, the festival artists will also try to shed some light on the secrets of J.S.Bach:

The lecture-concert program includes works by Bach and Busoni: Partita No. 1, Violin Sonata No. 1, Piano Toccata in F-sharp Minor, as well as Chaconne.
