Landscapers make urban environments more beautiful and habitable, aiming at preserving, protecting, and developing green living environments.

Who are landscapers? Landscapers create landscapes and structures according to a landscape architect's project. Landscape architects design the landscape in theory, while landscapers put it into practice. Due to climate change, there is a growing demand in cities for new, sustainable solutions that better maintain the mental and physical health of residents and natural resources, such as soil and water.

Rain garden is an option to sustainably manage rainwater.

In Estonia, one can study landscaping in four vocational schools: Hiiumaa Vocational School, Tallinn School of Construction, Luua Forestry School, and Räpina School of Horticulture.

Knowledge day: Landscapers as Creators of Well-Being is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.
